NEW ARINC HSI/ADI TEST FIXTURE
The TA-2000 test fixture is a combination panel that incorporates all the standard capabilities of the legacy CTS-11(ADI) and CTS-12(HSI) panels and much more. This panel is married to our model TA-1001 dual synchro transmitter/API panel thus allowing for local stimulus and alignment of the instruments synchros and resolvers. The panel provides for testing of both superflag(28v) and low level meters through a matrix of switching that will allow testing of all meters simultaneously or just individually. The low level meter drive circuit also incorporates an automatic mode that will continuously oscillate the L/R and Up/Dn pointers. The low level meter current and voltage are displayed using both analog and digital panel meters respectively. The HSI interface is done through two ninety-six pin connectors while the ADI interface is done through just one. The panel layout does allow for "by the book testing" (document revised to reflect use of TA-2000) when running either the HSI-85 or ADI-85 and both can be run simultaneously. A heading transmitter is embedded internally allowing the technician to park the instruments heading card while still making full use of both transmitters on the TA-1001. Internal to the panel is a dual channel slaving amp which enables running self driven instruments like the 331A-(x) series HSI with no requirement for an external amplifier. A label changer card is also provide if our TA-568 distance generator is not used. The digital distance interface to the panel is done through a dedicated connector and discrete switches on the panel. Signal jacks for composite, RS232 and Arinc 429 are also provided. The required mode and configuration switches are provided for both instruments. It is worth noting that all panel switches are labeled by their function thus eliminating the need to identify switch numbers, a time consuming process. This combination scheme allows for sharing of the panels resources between either instrument and eliminates the typical multi-sourced panel and jumper cable approach. This test fixture we believe gives the technician the most capable and easiest to use panel available today thus allowing for reliable and expeditious troubleshooting and alignment of the more
complex instruments seen today.
